Nadia Lee Cohen captures the cinematic spirit of retro So-Cal style.
Her subjects, mostly women, are often done up with melodramatic makeup and costumes - not to mention the occasional use of people in a gorilla or bear costume. Her claim to fame came about a few years ago from her series titled 100 Naked Women - you can guess what said title entailed.
Her work is remarkably theatrical as if captured directly from a high production Hollywood film studio. Though photography is her main medium, she does also dabble in film - see some of her film work here.
